  • What licence do I need to drive a motorhome in Ireland?

    At Bunk Campers, all of our campervans and motorhomes for hire in Ireland are under 3500kg so can be driven with a normal ‘B’ car driving licence.

  • How much is it to rent a campervan in Ireland?

    The cost of campervan hire in Ireland will vary depending on the season, pick up location, and vehicle type. Our prices are lower in the off season (Nov-March) with July and August being the most expensive time to hire a campervan in Ireland.

  • Where can I hire a motorhome in Ireland?

    Bunk Campers are the only campervan and motorhome hire company in Ireland with depots in both Dublin and Belfast. Our Dublin depot is conveniently located close to Dublin airport. Our Belfast depot is south of the city centre in Carryduff making it easy and convenient to get on the open road.

    We also offer one-way rentals across Ireland meaning you can collect your campervan or motorhome from Bunk Campers depot in Dublin and drop off in Belfast, or vice-versa. You can book a one-way rental in Ireland directly on our website.

  • How old do I need to be to hire a campervan in Ireland?

    Drivers can be aged 21-80 years old to hire a campervan in Ireland with Bunk Campers, provided they meet the usual driving licence criteria outlined in our terms and conditions. All of our rentals include fully comprehensive insurance for the driver(s).

  • Can you park a motorhome anywhere in Ireland?

    Parking up for the night on the side of the road or in fields, sometimes known as wild camping, is not permitted in Ireland and Northern Ireland. There are designated areas such as campsites or low-cost alternatives for overnight stays.

    You should be able to park in most shopping centres, service stops and farms for short-term parking on trips & visits to the shop. Read our Camping Guide for more information.

  • How much does it cost to park a campervan in Ireland?

    The cost of parking your campervan depends on if you choose to stay in a designated campsite or one of the low-cost alternatives. Campsites range from €25- €60 per night depending on the location and facilities.

    For parking, campervans and motorhomes are subject to the same rules as cars and other vehicles. Parking in built up areas will generally range from around €2.50- €10 per hour.
